The thermostat setting governs the “fan o” temperature, i.e., the temperature at which the fan turns OFF. When the temperature rises 15° above the “fan o” temperature, the fan turns ON. As the temperature in the attic is reduced, the fan turns o when the temperature in the attic reaches the “fan o” thermostat setting. The adjustable thermostat is pre-set at the factory at 90°. This setting is user-adjustable. The setting that is best for your attic varies by geographical location. A setting that is too low will cause the fan to run constantly; a setting that is too high will cause the attic to be over-heated since the fan will not turn on until the temperature rises 15° above the “fan o” thermostat setting.
